First time JaneBo and I have got out together for nearly two years, but as we had some days holiday, the wind was blowing and the nipper was still booked into nursery (what bad parents!), we just had to give it a shot......and it was good to be back.

Both of us are a bit rusty, and JaneBo is full of the Flu, but despite this and marginal winds, the day was a good-un!

I sailed the Phoenix with the 8M to start with and got a few planing runs in, but struggled to get the straps as the conditions were marginal and I had been forced to fit the small fin so spin out (yes spin out on a large board is possible!) kept ruining the runs.

JaneBo (on the Powerglide and 6.7) took a while to get going, but was then screaming accross the harbour and back again, whilst "Who-Hoo'ing" loudly. Sadly she then had a couple of massive coughing fits and began to feel decidely unwell, so called it a day.

This gave me the chance to try the Powerglide and 6.7m which felt far more lively when I could get them going, but I was struggling to get going most of the time so grabbed the 8M.

Had a couple of great runs, including one where I ignored where I was going and just went for the 'right feel'. As always this resulted in a very comfortable sail accross the harbour with the board and rig well trimmed, so much so that I could dangle my trailing arm/hand in the water. What a great feeling!

Not really a true 5 star day, but so close I cannot mark it any lower!

Heres to the next opportunity, lets hope it is not two years away!
